The Daredevil Comet cuts Mario or Luigi's maximum health down to only one hit point, as opposed to the usual three or six with a Life Mushroom. Additionally, it removes all Life Mushrooms and even coins from the level so that the player cannot get them. Four of them have the player battle a previously fought boss: Topmaniac , Bouldergeist , Major Burrows , and Kamella respectively, with the sole exception being Melty Molten Galaxy, which has the player complete the entire first mission The Sinking Lava Spire with only one hit point.
Taking any damage during a Daredevil Comet will require the player to start the mission over from the beginning. At the start of the first four aforementioned galaxies, the player will automatically be brought to the last planet where the boss resides, without the need to travel throughout the galaxy.
Just like the Speedy Comet, the original level can be dramatically changed when visited by a Daredevil Comet. The Cosmic Comet pits Mario in a race against Cosmic Mario in a predetermined course with a star at the end.
Mario must beat his duplicate to the Star. If the player uses Luigi , they will be racing against Cosmic Luigi instead. Unlike Cosmic Mario, Cosmic Luigi long jumps frequently and takes advantage of some shortcuts that are available.
The Fast-Foe Comet speeds up all enemies and obstacles in a stage. Mario must complete the stage while avoiding the accelerated enemies and obstacles.
Tox Boxes , Thwomps , and moving platforms are the only objects affected. The Purple Comet is only available after the main story is beaten. Purple Coins are hidden throughout the galaxy, and Mario must retrieve at least Purple Coins, sometimes within a time limit, to retrieve the Star. Some Purple Comet missions have more than Coins, but Mario still only needs to collect for the Star. All 15 major galaxies are visited by the Purple Comet.
Timed Purple Comet missions, as well as the Battlerock and Dreadnought Galaxy 's Purple Comet missions, use a unique background music, which is a remix of the Gusty Garden Galaxy music [1]. The mission in Starshine Beach Galaxy plays the Hightail Falls Galaxy music, since the Dash Pepper is needed to clear, even though the normal level has a Dash Pepper and using it won't change the music.
If Mario has less than Purple Coins , he loses a life. The Clone Comet replaces the Cosmic Comet from the first game. Multiple Cosmic Clones appear on a selected mission.
Is there anything special I have to do? User Info: Sefrona. Top Voted Answer. Once you get the second star of the Tall Trunk Galaxy, a wood guy will appear in the spaceship and will tell you about the Comet Medals, then just get another star to make the Prankster Comets appear. User Info: Nintendo Hey i know what you mean. Comets do not appear at the beggining of the game after 20 or 30 stars then lubba the fat purple luma on the ship will inform you about them.
User Info: smashblade. Wait, one timeappears User Info: eliasiradao. When you get a certin amount of commet coins it will make commets show up, and they don't go away like they did before. They stay in the galaxy until you beat them. You arn't forced to do them either. If there's a commet in a galaxy, you can still play the normal levels. No,you have to get coins from certain levels to activate another prankster comet.
I'm looking this up and not getting anything useful. Do I have to check all the domes for prankster comets? Do I need to be more patient? Should I play galaxies that take a while to complete? Please, please help. This is driving me nuts. Are the Prankster Comets the only stars you need now? If not, you probably have to find more stars as it's implied here that you have some left to go. I have collected all of the normal power stars I am pretty sure i have gotten them all.
Do I need to defeat Bowser? Have you defeated Bowser yet even? I think some Prankster Comets are post-game exclusive.
