What does bible say about tattoos

The things that were once considered sinful are now acceptable. You go to Hell for not repenting of your sins and putting your trust in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation. I have a few questions I want to ask those who desire a tattoo. How does God feel about it and do you care? Do you want a tattoo for self promotion? Will it offend those weak in the faith? What did your parents say? How will it look in the future? How will it affect your testimony?

Do you plan to do it on impulse? In Leviticus it says no tattoos. Usually in the New Testament God shows that some things are permissible such as eating pork. There is nothing that even hints that we can get a tattoo in the New Testament.

Also, there are some things that are only brought up in the Old Testament, but we still consider them a sin like Bestiality for example. Leviticus You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the Lord. You are going to have to give it back.

Imagine if I let you borrow my car and you brought it back with scratches all over it because you thought I would be OK with it. I will be angry. Glorify God with your body. The disciples and early Christians knew how to honor God. Never did we hear about one of them getting a tattoo. For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body. Romans Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship.

Tattoos have roots in witchcraft, paganism, demonism, mysticism, and more. As the world and demonic activity started to get into the church, so did tattoos. What does God say? He says He does not want to be honored in the same way the world honors their idols. He does not want to be worshiped in the same way. God is not like us. Because they did all these things, I abhorred them. I talked to people who said they want a tattoo because it means something, they can use it to share their faith, etc.

However, I strongly believe that people will deceive themselves to cover up the real reason that they want a tattoo. The heart is deceitful. I talked to them and we finally got to the root of the reason. They finally said it was because it looks cool. Rarely do people even bring up the topic of faith with tattoos.

Turkey or Tofurkey? Stuffing or dressing? People sometimes self-injure themselves for the same reasons they get tattoos: the pain is part of how they cope with difficulty or feel a sense of power for a short period of time. Cutting and even some methods of tattooing are associated with punishment throughout the ages in many cultures, whether self-inflicted or as a means of torture by others.

Is the image or message a reminder of past guilt, a way of inflicting emotional distress every time one sees it? Is obtaining a tattoo about self-punishment? In either case, getting a tattoo is an act of unbelief.

Tattoos borne out of self-hatred are legacies of darkness rather than light. The Father wants His children to bear fruit, and a fruitful life is repentant. Walk as children of light for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. I am responsible for my own salvation.

A popular reason to get a tattoo is in order to honor a loved one who has died. Christians grieve for their dead, but they do not worship them.

Not only do they have hope of reuniting with lost loved ones who believed in Christ for salvation, but they have been commanded to have no other Gods; to worship no idols.
