This was Satan's backhanded attempt to place a curse on God. Now, let me share with you the spiritual tools I use to protect myself from Satanic attacks--including curses. Perhaps you will find one or more of these practices helpful in navigating the spiritual waters of life.
First and foremost I pray for God to encircle me with a spiritual hedge of protection to insulate me from any personal or demonic designs.
After all, if God put a hedge around Job that Satan couldn't penetrate without God's permission, then He can erect one around me. I pray Job "Hast not thou made a hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. Next, I try to keep my life righteous and holy so that I open no door and give no opportunity for any curse to debilitate me in any way.
I pray Proverbs "Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest. Then, I try never to leave the house spiritually naked. I want to be clothed in the armor of God against any spiritual attack. I pray Ephesians : Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that … when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions.
In addition, I think of people who have hurt me. Instead of wishing them evil and harm, I try to pray for their blessing and prosperity. After all, Jesus instructed us in Luke to: "Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. You see, if we curse those who've hurt us then we put ourselves in danger of Christ's judgment. Jesus said in Matthew "But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Finally, with gratitude, I remember that sin has placed the entire world under a curse.
All of us have "sinned and fallen short of God's glory" Romans We know that payment for our sin is death Romans ; Deuteronomy Fortunately, when we receive Christ as Lord and Savior, Jesus dies in our place on the cross. He takes the curse of death for us and the curse against us is now underserved. Death no longer rests upon us Galatians I have shared some of the biblical foundations and practices regarding cursing.
I hope that reading my response may give you more insight into the Biblical reality concerning curses. In addition to being an author and sought-after conference speaker, Roger has mentored or taught thousands of pastors, missionaries, and Christian leaders worldwide.
Proponents of this wayward theology often provide Proverbs as a prooftext. Ironically, this verse claims precisely the opposite of what such false teachers espouse and actually destroys their entire argument. In other words, it has no effect. Can criticism or negative words curse another person?
Some people claim that Ecclesiastes teaches as much. However, this verse in no way suggests that a curse could be invoked on a king or a rich person by the spoken word. Be careful what you say! Furthermore, if criticism caused a curse, a public figure, like a pastor, would be covered up with curses and would have time for nothing but around-the-clock exorcism. What about the idea that curses can traverse generations?
The pollution of the earth affects future generations. But there is a limit to this. We are accountable to God for our own sins. Then, imagine that the light is covering you and your ritual bath in cleansing energy.
Recite a spell or pray before you get into the water. Close your eyes and hold your hands in prayer pose or over the water. Then, say your purification spell or say a prayer asking for the negative energy to be removed from you.
Tonight I ask that you cleanse me of the negative energy that has been plaguing me. Please reverse this curse and make me pure. Soak for at least minutes to give the water time to cleanse you. Get into your bath and sink beneath the water. Close your eyes and relax for minutes. During this time, imagine a white light surrounding you and think positive thoughts.
This might help you stay focused on the cleansing power of your bath. Method 2. Sweep a selenite wand down and away from your body. Hold the wand about 6 to 12 in 15 to 30 cm away from your body. Starting at your head, sweep the wand down your body to cleanse your aura. You can get a selenite wand at a store that sells crystals, a magickal supplies shop, or online. Light a sage bundle, then use a feather to waft the smoke over you. Place your sage bundle in a heatproof container. Then, light the end of the sage and blow out the fire so that the sage is smoldering.
Use a feather to sweep the smoke over your body. Start at your head and work down to your feet. You can use it to cleanse yourself and your space of negative energy. Recite a cleansing spell or say a prayer. As you smudge yourself, say a spell or prayer that states your intention to be rid of the curse or negative energy.
In your spell or prayer, state that you know the curse will broken so your ritual has more power. I know that you will make me free. Method 3. Put a candle in a bowl and add water up to 1 in 2. Get a medium-sized bowl and position a candle at the bottom of it. A taper candle works best, but any candle can work. Then, pour water into the bowl until the candle is almost covered. Leave about 1 in 2. You can find a black taper candle at a department store, magickal supplies store, or online.
Sprinkle a handful of salt into the water around the candle. Pour salt into your hand, then slowly sprinkle it in a circle around the candle. Add as much salt as you like to provide extra purification to your spell. Visualize a white light flowing into the water. Stare at the bowl of water and picture a beam of white light flowing into the bowl. Imagine that this light is a positive, cleansing light.
Take several slow, deep breaths as you visualize the light. Light the candle, then say your spell or prayer. Use a match or lighter to light the candle. As it burns, recite a spell or say a prayer to break your curse. Make sure you finish your spell before the candle goes out. Let the candle burn down to the water and go out. Let the candle continue burning until the wick reaches the water. At that point, the water will extinguish the fire. Your spell is almost complete!
Break the candle in half and bury it outside. Remove the candle from the water and bend it at the center. Keep bending until it breaks in half.
Then, take the bowl and the candle outside. Dig a shallow hole and bury your candle. Pour the water in a circle around the buried candle. If you still have water, make another pass. You do this to seal the spell.
The curser curses first and takes credit later. She expects no answer except in results. Both her husband and her son have been murdered. What does she have to lose? In her case, God listens and all those who have had a hand in the deaths of her husband and son eventually meet their ends just as she has predicted.
Rarely are the effects of a curse quite so transparent or tidy. Some of the best curses arguably come from my people, the Jews, not Israelis, but the Jews of the Shtetl, those who cursed in Yiddish. Lie with your head in crap and grow like an onion May you give birth to a trolley car. May you have two beds and a fever in each.
How can you take such clever curses seriously? May you give birth to a trolley car? The forebears of my people, the Israelites, cursed better or at least more earnestly.
Here, the prophet Elisha curses a bunch of rambunctious boys. Come up, Baldy! From there, he headed to Mt. Carmel and afterwards returned to Samaria.
Kings 2, , my translation. What might seem to a bystander as the disproportionate use of force is for Heaven to balance, not us poor mortals who might see such a scene as, well, overkill.
The curse is the force of madness and rage, a different frequency from that of the supplicant murmuring gently prayers. Curses are not sensible; they are not uttered in moments of reflection, and so the results can be messy. Zora Neale Hurston records a curse from the Algiers section of New Orleans so long and mean that simply hearing it would have made me faint dead away:.
That the East wind shall make their minds grow dark, their sight shall fail and their seed dry up so that they shall not multiply. So be it. And that in itself is a partial remedy for impotent rage.
The simple channeling of that anger into a funnel of spite. In my own case, I put some curses on a group of summer campers in New Hampshire when I was eleven. Every time I cursed someone, something bad happened almost immediately. I doubt he took the curses seriously, but he took the disruption of camp life quite seriously—drunk on my power, I had become a kind of curse kingpin in the days preceding his appeal to me, campers visiting me with requests in return for candy bars.
Although my cursing days were over, I learned that the line of influence in this world is not always visible, rational, or wholly explicable.
In the several years since the woman in India cursed me, how has my life been affected? This is a tough question. My fortunes have not been terrible. A book I published that Spring was met with good reviews but somewhat lackluster sales. A movie deal was struck and then fell through. I suffered a few colds, an inexplicable rash, a mild bout of depression.
I was not rich yet and I was getting less handsome by the day. This is a difficult question to answer, but one I determined to determine.
While in Hong Kong, I asked a friend, a reasonable person, if she knew of anyone who might be able to remove a curse? I finally had my chance when I brought a group of students to the Philippines and was making up the itinerary. I chose to visit Siquijor for a few days.
